Finding Me

Last year, I wrote a poem called, Finding My Voice. Writing this poem has become one of my top ten poems that I have written. Finding My Voice has become a series of my poems.

Recently, I came across Finding My Voice. This time, as I was reading, I thought to myself about what it took to find my voice. It was in that moment that I realized that to find my voice, I had to find myself. In order to write an impactful blog article, poem, or presentation, I have to look deep within myself. To find out all that’s within me, I had to get to know the greatness that's inside of me. This led me to write a poem called, Finding Me.

Finding Me is all about looking deep within and encouraging myself. I had to learn how to tell myself that there is more to me than what it may look like. I had to believe that I can do anything that comes my way, through hard work and determination.

When I encourage myself, I am telling the voice within me that it’s okay to be my authentic self. I am also telling the person within me that I am allowed to shine just the way that I am. I have high self-esteem. The person that I have become, I have accepted. Having a disability makes me stand out from the crowd. I now realize that I am enough just the way I am.

Now that I have found myself, I can help others discover the meaning of who they are and where they are headed. I am also able to help people discover themselves and find their voice.
