My Beautiful Words

Eight years ago, I started writing and performing original poetry. In 2020, while everyone was at home, I decided to pick up the pen and start writing daily. I was simply trying to find something to do, to pass the time. What I didn’t know was that 8 years later, I would be able to keep the pen in my hand.

In a recent poem that I wrote, “My Beautiful Words”, I reflected on how my words became more than just words on a page. My poems have a way of touching the hearts of those who allow them to resonate within them.

To open the poem, I talk about how I am defined by my words and not my challenges. My hurdles are a part of life, but they are not the authors of my testimony. They may have challenged me and shaped me, but they never had the chance to define me.

My poems have become more than a collection of words. They became a source of strength, hope, inspiration, and light in someone else’s heart. They became light in the hardest moments of life. A voice reminding them that there’s more in store.

A piece of my story is told in every line.

A piece of my heart lives in every poem I write.

And somehow my beautiful words find their way into the hearts of others.

What I have authored from my own experience has become encouragement for someone else.

That’s something I’m truly grateful for.

Every time someone tells me that my words touched them, I am motivated to continue writing. Their words motivate me to keep going, keep creating, keep picking up the pen again and again, and to keep pouring out everything that has been placed within my heart.

My words are not just for me.

They are for the person who needs hope.

They are for the person who is struggling to believe in themselves.

My words are for the person who needs

someone to remind them

Your testimony is not over.

There are still pages waiting to be authored.

If my words can motivate one person to keep pursuing, then I will know that

every word,

every page,

every poem,

and every struggle was worth it.

Eight years ago, I picked up my pen.

I didn’t know I was discovering my purpose.

I didn’t know I was finding my voice.

I didn’t know I was finding me.

I simply started writing

And now I understand

My beautiful words were never just for me.

They were meant to help others find their own path.
